There are photographs I’ve taken that I keep going back to, marveling at the captured moment.
Even so, I’ve never framed any of my photographs. When I heard about a new company called Aluminyze, who prints photos on sheets of aluminum, I was intrigued.
Behind a massive, graffiti-covered door in Seville is a café. And a bar. And an art gallery. And an antique store.
It’s all in one room, and it’s called Redhouse Art and Food.

Flamenco is one of the most dramatic forms of expression I’ve ever seen. While I was in Seville, I saw two flamenco shows, and they couldn’t have been more different…
I saw them both in one night.
For my first piece as a regular contributor to Dwell‘s website, I wrote about a subject close to home…the Harvard Five.
In the late 1940′s, five Harvard architects moved to my home town of New Canaan, Connecticut and revolutionized the architecture of this traditional New England town. A couple of years ago, I was fortunate to hear John Johansen, the last surviving member of the group, speak about those days of innovation. I will never forget it.

In 1902, a letter was delivered to Monsieur le Baron de Thénard, at Place Saint-Sulpice in Paris. It was from a mechanic, demanding payment for the work he had done on the baron’s yacht.
In 2012, the letter was found in a wall.
